Oh, needs and wants,
We can't have all the things we want..."
What a perfect time of year for kindergartners to learn a little economics lesson about needs and wants! During the first day of our economic study, we read a book that explained needs and wants. We acted out our new vocabulary words and the kids discussed examples of needs and wants. The kids found out needs are things that we must have to help us live- food, water, clothing, and shelter. Wants are things that we wish we could have- toys, electronics, and special treats. I wrote and drew their ideas on our class chart. We ended our first day by singing this precious little song about needs and wants.
