We also learned that the order of objects can start at any position and the order can go from left to right, right to left, top to bottom, or bottom to top. We practiced ordering holiday erasers and using our new math vocabulary to describe the position of our erasers. After a lot of practice, we glued holiday paper cut-outs to sentence strips, described our order to our friends, and labeled the position of each cut-out.
Lastly, kindergartners used our school's new set of iPads to create a holiday scene on an app called Doodle Buddy. After creating their scene with five different holiday stamps, we took a screen shot of our scene and imported the picture to Educreations. In this app, the kiddos were able to use their voice to tell the order of their objects and also write the cardinal number that matches the position word as they recorded their voice. What fun!
