That afternoon, we listened to Chris Van Allsburg's classic, The Polar Express. We discussed how the main character was the boy and he appeared in many different places throughout the story. It was night time and he was wearing his pajamas in his bedroom, got aboard the train called "The Polar Express", and finally reached the North Pole. After the excitement of his visit to the North Pole, the boy traveled back home. |
After the story was over, Ms. Kim from the office delivered a package to our room. It was FREEZING cold and had a return address to the North Pole! We quickly opened the package and to our surprise, there were 20 silver bells inside! EVERYONE could hear the ringing of the bells as belief filled the room. :)
At the bottom of our package, we found 20 golden Polar Express tickets. The train was leaving any minutes so we quickly got in line and "traveled" on the Polar Express through the hallways and even outside to the blacktop- we used our imaginations and passed through the forest, saw wolves, through the mountains, and under bridges on our journey to the North Pole. In the middle of our journey, we also had a fire drill... so it took quite a while to get to the North Pole! It was so magical when we reached our destination!
In "Winter Wonderland", kindergartners could choose a holiday design for our fantastic parent volunteers to paint on their cheek or hand. They also visited the classroom computers and used Photo Booth and holiday props to take silly "selfies".
Thank you, Ms. Cara and Ms. Jeannette!!!
In "The Elves' Den" was full of fun games the elves like to play when they are not too busy making toys for Santa. "Pin the Nose on Rudolph" and "Snowflake Toss" was so much fun!
Thanks, Ms. Alla!!!
In "Mrs. Claus' Kitchen" kinders had so much fun icing and decorating sugar cookies that were fresh from Mrs. Claus' oven. The kiddos got to enjoy one of their cookies with hot chocolate.
Thanks to my mom, Ms. Robin!!!
When their reindeer food was made, they used playdough and craft supplies to create models of reindeer.
Thanks to Ms. Holly!!!
