The past few weeks kindergarteners have spent time learning how time can be categorized into the past, or long ago, and the present, or today. First, we discussed how life was long ago compared to today. The kids completed a class sort with picture cards. We played a "Roll, Read, Cover" Past and Present game to help us identify things from the past and things from the present. The next day, we learned that timelines are a tool that can organize and show us things that have happened over time. The kids created their own precious timelines showing themselves in the past and the present. Finally, they made their own flip books by sorting their own picture cards into the categories of past and present. Check out the fun! Roll, Read, Cover: Past & Present Game
