We learned about the word "life cycle" and came up with ideas of what we needed to know about these living caterpillars to be able to explain to other people that they have a life cycle. Throughout the week these little scientists researched different parts of the butterfly life cycle helping them to learn new words, describe facts from books, create projects, and discuss these new ideas with their classmates. We also kept the caterpillars at the discovery table to carefully observe throughout the week. The excitement that has filled the room when we've noticed changes in our caterpillars has been SO contagious and inspiring. Learning is FUN and these kiddos show it every day. We are eagerly awaiting to see what happens with our caterpillars that changed into a chrysalis. Our research tells us a butterfly comes next in the life cycle. It will certainly be amazing to see!
